The Netherlands Marten Luiten, the team and individual test gold medal winner at the 2020 European Young Riders Championships, has added two Hungarian owned horses to his string to ride.

The 19-year old is a second year student in Business Management at Groningen University and based in Winschoten, The Netherlands. He has received the ride on Arie Yom-Tov's 6-year old KWPN mare Jemima LH and the 7-year old Danish warmblood mare Tailormade Zofie

Jemima LH is by Everdale x Don Gregory and bred by Brit Robert Lickley. Under former Hungarian young rider Gabriella Erdi the black mare won silver at the 2018 and 2019 Hungarian Young Horse Championships for 4 and 5-year olds. They represented Hungary at the 2019 World Young Horse Championships  in Ermelo and finished 16th in the consolation finals. In 2020 Peter Edmar placed fifth with Jemima LH at the Hungarian Young Horse Championships.

The 7-year old Danish warmblood mare Tailormade Zofie is by Overgaard's Zacksu x Bernstein). She was previously ridden by the Dutch Sjuul Spelt, who made her international show debut on the bay mare at the CDI-W Budapest in August 2020. They won the 7-year old preliminary test and placed third in the Finals test.

With these two new additions to his barn, Luiten now has 4 horses to ride, including his top Young Riders' horse Fynona and youngster Larsson (by Everdale).

"They are four super nice horses, but it's very busy," Luiten told Eurdoressage, adding that his studies at university "also require a lot of time. Fortunately with corona were are tele-studying from home which saves a lot of time. They are long days, but because I like the four horses as well as the studies, I don't think it's a problem."
